Lodging & Dining

CoastWalk Oregon participants arrange their own lodging.

We provide lunch at the end of Day Three and snacks throughout; otherwise you will arrange your own dining. We start early, so you’ll need to find an early-opening breakfast spot (or plan to make your own breakfast).

CoastWalk Oregon 2018 will be oriented around the small port town of Garibaldi, just inside the mouth of Tillamook Bay, where we will begin and end each day. Here you’ll find a variety of accommodations and casual dining as well as RV and tent camping at the port and in nearby Barview County Park. If you stay someplace other than in Garibaldi, you will need to drive there each day to start the walk. Other towns to consider lodging in during CoastWalk Oregon 2018:

“The hiking was well thought out. And the views were spectacular! You all did a fantastic job thinking of everything.”

—Bebe, Gearhart OR, CWO 2017

Manzanita (30 minutes north of Garibaldi), a quiet beach town tucked off the highway with lots of shopping and dining options. There are additional lodging options in nearby Nehalem and Wheeler and camping at Nehalem Bay State Park.

Rockaway Beach (10 minutes north of Garibaldi), a lively vacation town arrayed between the beach and US 101.

Tillamook (20 minutes south of Garibaldi), the largest town in the area and hub of the county’s dairy industry.

Oceanside and Netarts, quiet beach towns well off the highway with limited lodging and dining options (30-plus minutes south of Garibaldi).

Cape Lookout State Park campground (35 minutes south of Garibaldi).
